Bantam AA Cougars Continue Winning Ways

Chilliwacks Bantam AA Cougars continue their winning ways on the road this past weekend defeating the Tsawwassen A's 8-1 on Sunday afternoonn to improve their record to 16-0. Chilliwack starting pitcher Josh Anderson pitched 4 innings allowing no runs and only 4 hits before giving way to reliever Jordan Scherbey. Scherbey closed the door on the A's over the final 3 innings after working out of a bases loaded no one out situation in the bottom of the 6th inning, getting help from Chilliwacks solid defence. The game started as a pitchers duel through 5 innings with the Cougars holding a slim 3-0 lead into the top of the 6th when the Chilliwack bats exploded with 4 runs across the plate. The Chilliwack offence was led by Tony Pharand and Dan Rogers both with 2 singles and Alex Lieper and Anderson that each had deep shots to the fence for doubles. Singles were also added by Devyn Heggs, Parker Logan and Donovan Moorman.

The Bantam AA Cougars finish off their spring league play this week at home this Saturday when they host the Ladner Red Sox to a double header at 12pm & 3pm at Fairfield Park.
